If you want to elevate your career – the first step is putting yourself in the right room.

It’s easy to say but what does it mean? Putting yourself in the right room means surrounding yourself with a team of people who are going to put you on the path to success.

Back when I was 18 years old, I got a job in my local pub. I was just an 18 year old kid washing plates. Then over time, I eventually ended up pouring beers and further down the track begun managing the hotel. At that time, I didn’t realize how significant the hoteliers were that I was working for. They were some of the best hoteliers in the country.

Some of the systems that they taught me I still use today! And that was for me, more luck than anything, putting myself in the right room and then surrounding myself with the right people.
